Solar Impressions

Solar Impressions is an ongoing exploration of sunlight as a creative partner, so to speak. The collection includes two expressions of this process: Works on Paper  and  Textile Wall Hangings - each created through sunlight, botanicals and light-sensitive materials.

Pressed flowers and botanicals, carefully gathered from the landscapes surrounding my home, become an essential part of the creative process, leaving their own unique impressions. Many works revisit earlier motifs you might recognise, transforming them through sunlight and the unpredictable beauty of the process.

The series continues to grow through the chapters Day and Night, reflecting shifting light and an ongoing dialogue between me as the artist, the landscape and time.
